Do my flaggers need training?

Title 8 Section 1599 states that flagging operations must follow the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). At the core of our ATSSA/Cal-Trans flagger training lies the MUTCD and extensive practicing and applying the contents of the MUTCD to day-to-day operations. By diving into the best practices for flaggers we effectively help arm your company with flaggers that are qualified to help protect the company and themselves from harm.

Cal-Trans requires that all flaggers assigned within the Cal-Trans right of way are trained in accordance with the MUTCD by a Cal-Trans authorized instructor. Our instructor is recognized as a provider in compliance with their standards. Don’t be fooled by online training that does not meet Cal-Trans’ requirement for in person training.
